PRESENTATION GUIDELINES

When documenting research in any style, there must be  consensus among the professionals in the field, namely, teachers and librarians, as to how this is to be done.  The emerging universal guidelines allow researchers to follow a particular method in recording their sources of information, as well as provide assistance with all aspects of the research. Relevant to this, CXC requires that all School Based Assessments and Internal Assessments follow a particular style when documenting research findings.

In this light, Naparima Girls’ High School has decided to commence the practice of documentation from Form 1, continuing all the way to Form 6. It is anticipated that introducing students to the required style from early, would allow them adequate time to acquire the necessary competence in usage.

As a result, a new component has been introduced on the Library Skills curriculum for Form 1 students to introduce them to the Modern Languages Association (MLA) style of documentation. More detailed sessions will be done for students of Forms 4, 5 and 6 to reinforce what was done in Form 1.

All presentations done from Forms 1 to 6 are now required to follow the recommended styles:

Forms 1-6 MLA

Form 6 Science students APA
